Wilson Juice Carbon PB
Wilson Juice Carbon PB - Wilson ramps up the game with Carbon fiber, the progression of materials that make pickleball paddles better.
Not for the feint of heart, the Juice & Echo Carbon models are heavier (8.2-8.6 oz) than a lot of paddles on the market but don't shy away from this. If you have the game they will stand up to the test. Aimed at the intermediate to advanced player who want more plow through and solid contact, simply put... they perform.
The Juice is the shorter of the two Carbon Fiber paddles (15.25"), the other model being the Echo (16"). Width is wider at 8.25" and described a widebody. Defined as a power paddle the Juice has a more head heavy feel compared to the Juice and the paddle face seems to be stiffer when hitting balls.
The grip shape is very square. On initial pick-up it seemed a bit rudimentary but as the playtesters reported back at least it told you the orientation of the face relative to your grip - open face, closed, etc. In the end players were happy with the grip shape.
The paddle is described as having a rough texture which it does not. At the same time it does spin the ball so we must defer to the Wilson engineers as to how is this accomplished. They speak of Spin X technology and we have a cal into Wilson to get the details. Stay tuned :)
Wilson Carbon Fiber face material changes the game in our opinion. It offers a solid hit when blasting baseline groundstrokes but offers a soft face for returning smashes and controlling quick exchanges at the net.
