Engage is expanding the boundaries of paddle design with the new Blade design. Extra long (17″) and a little narrower. The Blade passes the USAPA standards for tournament play.

What is the point? If you could use a little extra reach at the net, on ground strokes, or for high lobs that you want to smash the Blade might be the answer.

Engage has maximized the sweetspot in the Blade to extend as far as possible to the edge of the paddle. This results in a sweetspot similar to some other regular shaped paddles.

First impressions when on the court were positive. Definitely the narrower width took a little while to get used to but after a short time the longer length seemed to help with adding more torque onto to the shots and the reach was a definite benefit. The paddle has a more solid stable feel as compared to the Encore Pro or Encore models. It felt thicker than the Pro/Encore which helped it feel comfortable as well.

It is a combination of our playing experience with each paddle as well as the technical specifications that make up the individual paddles. Weight, balance, and materials all play a part in how the paddle performs on the court.

Ratings are based on a scale of 1 to 5.  1 being the lowest, 5 the best.
